Virtual Classes & Hands-On Learning
Our beekeeping course combines the best of both worlds: virtual learning and in-person practical sessions. The course runs for 6-8 weeks and includes weekly Zoom lectures for instruction and Q&A, followed by Saturday lab sessions for practical experience. These labs involve working directly with bees, helping you gain the skills and confidence to manage a hive effectively. You’ll learn about different hive systems, selecting and installing bees, and best practices for managing pests and diseases.
By the end of the course, you'll be prepared to manage bees as they become available in packages or small colonies called NUCs. There is still space available, so don’t miss the chance to join us!
Course Details & Pricing
Course Start Date: December 2024 (TBA)
Course Duration: 6-8 weeks, with weekly virtual classes and Saturday lab sessions
Course Fee: $70.00
Membership Fee: $30.00 for annual membership in the Paseo del Norte Beekeepers Association
If, after the first class, you decide that beekeeping isn't for you, we will happily refund your tuition. Please note that annual dues are non-refundable.

Course Materials and Mentorship
To ensure a smooth start to your beekeeping experience, all course participants are encouraged to seek mentorship from experienced beekeepers within our community. Coupled with the course material, this mentorship provides a richer learning experience, allowing for personal guidance and support as you progress in your beekeeping journey.
We will maintain a comprehensive list of all course lessons on our site, making it easy to access and follow the curriculum from start to finish or focus on specific topics as needed.
